Re: I'm not a Twilight fan...
Anytime my daughter shows the slightest interest in something, I react accordingly. ESPECIALLY when it has to do with literature of any kind.
She, like her friends in school, got the hots for "Twilight"... so, being the dad I am, I bought her all four volumes. She devoured them. As for the movie(s)... c'mon... she's a teenager. That being said, Robert Pattinson is the main reason for the interest. And now with the second one, it's the Lautner kid. That's fine. My kid has incredible taste when it comes to film and television. How could she not? You know... with a dad like me. She's the one that told me "Twilight"'s just a good popcorn movie. And for me, that's more than enough. This is a kid who's favorite movie of all time is "Sunset Boulevard"... 'nuff said. So, whether you're a fan of Twilight or not, it hit the demographic that it was meant to hit. And in this industry, that's all that matters. Thanks for your time. Luv ya.

Re: I'm not a Twilight fan...
I bought it a while back.
Must say -- she is a poetic writer. It was adpated for a reason. The novel and the scripts -- great adoration. So atmospheric -damn.

Re: I'm not a Twilight fan...
I say good on anybody who can write a book that will actually make kids put away their ipods, wii's and cellphones and just have a good sit down with a book in their hands. The fact is, love them or hate them, the Twilight books have encouraged millions of teenagers to give old-fashioned reading a try, and thankfully I say, has turned them into readers hungry for more stories. How can that be a bad thing for those of us who aspire to write?
Now, as for my own opinion, I found the first Twilight book boring and basically had to force myself to finish it (which I did). I had no desire to read anything further in the series, however, I seem to be in the minority on this point. I didn't even bother with the movie version. Both of my teenage daughers are completely ga-ga over the entire franchise, so I'm outvoted even in my own house.
